The Stables are located in the heart of ‘The Venice of Ireland’, Monasterevin, Co. Kildare.
Situated in the garden of Hibernian House, these 150 year-old stables have been loving restored by Lisa-Marie & Kevin Duffy.
Following the purchase of the former Hibernian Bank building in 2016, Lisa-Marie & Kevin have been working on restoring the building into a modern family home. With the World going into lockdown in early 2020, the couple focused on the still derelict stables in the back garden. From grand plans of garden offices to an outdoor dining area, they decided to convert both stables into self-contained short stay accommodation units. With a lot of the work being undertaken during what seemed like endless lockdown weekends, The Stables were completed in 2021. The Duffy family are now delighted to welcome visitors into their little piece of heaven along the banks of The Grand Canal & the River Barrow.
Each Stable has a cosy ground floor kitchen/living space, bathroom and first-floor loft bedroom with double bed. The units are equipped with a fridge, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, microwave, hairdryer and TV, so visitors have everything for a comfortable, relaxing stay. Visitors can also avail of free on-street parking throughout their stay.
